As class president it was my duty to give a speech at our master's degree graduation ceremony.
I used a three stage writing process. (1) Writing down ideas and sentences in my sketchbook, collecting thoughts and coming up with a structure. (2) Putting everything down in linear form using a typewriter. This process is slower than computer keyboard typing and allows for reffining sentence structure and choice of words. (3) Going digital with my surface and my custom colour-dynamic word template, making changes and further refinements as I go along.
Then I practiced my speech. In silence - everybody was already sleeping. Pronouncing the words (even if it is in your head) allows for "feeling out" language. I made changes as they became necessary and also took the chance to smooth out stumbling blocks.
Even though the speech critised the institution heavily, it was a great success. Professors, the facaulty dean and even the university's CEO came to congratulate me. One professor requested a copy as an example for future generations...

But there is one feedback I am especially happy about. It reached me after uploading the video to the internet...
